The 2011 Chrysler 200 and Jeep Grand Cherokee are both new to the list of Top Safety Picks. When choosing the Jeep Grand Cherokee, IIHS reviewers added that the torso airbags increased side crash protection, which is only one of a broad list of safety features offered by the vehicle. The 200 is Chrysler’s newest midsize sedan.
This is the third year in a row that Dodge Avenger and Journey have shown up on the list of Top Safety Picks. It is the second year straight the Jeep Patriot was chosen as a Top Pick. Scott Kunselman, Senior VP of Engineering at Chrysler, released this statement:

The vehicles selected from Chrysler all have common safety features such as anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control systems, head restraints for seats, and side curtain airbags. They are all also brand new models or have been significantly re-designed in the 2011 model.
